Infusion pumps
There are many types of infusion pumps, including syringe, insulin, elastomeric, patient-controlled analgesia (PCA), and large volume pumps. Some are designed for stationary use at a patient’s bedside.
IVs
Intravenous (IV) therapy is the most common type of infusion and delivers medication directly into the bloodstream through a vein.
Infusion drugs
Infusion drugs include antibiotics, chemotherapy drugs, pain relievers, immunosuppressants, and biologics.
