Heart failure also known as Congestive Heart Failure (CHF), occurs when your heart muscle doesn’t pump blood as well as it should.

Some of the main symptoms include:

• Coughing when at rest or sleeping,
• Excessive panting.
• Persistent loss of appetite.
• A swollen belly due to fluid retention.
• Pale or bluish gums.
• Generalized weight loss and muscle wasting due to the effects of CHF on other body systems.
