Description
Description
Adequan i.m. Equine is a prescription intramuscular injectable medication used to manage arthritis and joint pain in horses. With Adequan i.m., you can diminish destructive joint disease by reversing the joint disease cycle, restoring joint lubrication and reducing inflammation to help keep joints moving and horses performing.
Uses
Adequan is recommended for the treatment of noninfectious degenerative and/or traumatic joint dysfunction and associated lameness of the carpal joint in horses.
Possible Side Effects
Side effects are rare possible. The most common problems associated with Adequan are pain/swelling at the injection site or blood clotting problems. Decreased blood clotting can cause nose bleeds or gastrointestinal bleeding which can cause bloody stool or vomiting. Some dogs are allergic to Adequan but this is not common. Contact your veterinarian right away if your pet is acting unusual after an injection is given.
