Description
Digoxin is a medication prescribed to treat certain heart diseases. It’s used to treat conditions, such as congestive heart failure, atrial fibrillation/flutter (when the heart’s upper chambers beat too quickly), as well as other conditions causing rapid heartbeat. Digoxin also helps to reduce heart rate and pressure in the veins to combat conditions associated with congestive heart failure. Customers may receive this drug under the names Cardoxin, Lanoxin.
Uses
Digoxin is indicated for the treatment of mild to moderate heart failure and the control of ventricular response rate in those with chronic atrial fibrillation.
Possible Side Effects
Heightened serum levels, worsening heart failure, heart arrhythmia, loss of appetite, lethargy, dehydration and diarrhea have been reported.
