Dogs: Emeprev® Injectable Solution is indicated for the prevention and treatment of acute vomiting in dogs.
Cats: Emeprev® Injectable Solution is indicated for the treatment of vomiting in cats.
Important Safety Information
As with all drugs, side effects may occur. Use Emeprev® Injectable for vomiting in cats 4 months and older; use subcutaneously for acute vomiting in dogs 2 to 4 months of age or either subcutaneously or intravenously in dogs 4 months of age and older. Safe use has not been evaluated in cats and dogs with gastrointestinal obstruction, or those that have ingested toxins. Use with caution in cats and dogs with hepatic dysfunction. Pain/vocalization upon injection is a common side effect. In people, topical exposure may elicit localized allergic skin reactions, and repeated or prolonged exposure may lead to skin sensitization. Incidences of depression/lethargy, anorexia, hypersalivation, vomiting, diarrhea, ataxia, and trembling have been reported.
If your dog exhibits any of these reactions, contact your veterinarian.
Drug & Food Interactions
No adverse reactions were observed from the concurrent use of Cerenia with other medications.
Precautions
Cerenia should be administered with caution to:
Dogs who have hepatic dysfunction (liver failure).
Pets who are already taking other highly protein-bound medications.
Recommended Dosage
Follow your veterinarian's precise directions. Give Cerenia by mouth 2 hours before you travel for up to 2 days for prevention of motion sickness. This medication is also used once a day in order treat nausea and vomiting due to other causes.
Storage Instructions
Store at room temperature 68-77°F (20-25°C) with excursions between 59-86°F (15-30°C) permitted
After puncturing first vial, Cerenia should be stored refrigerated at temperature of 36-46* F (2-8* C)
Stopper may be punctured a max of 25 times
After first puncture, use within 90 days
