Description
Primidone is a prescription anticonvulsant used in treating epilepsy in dogs. It controls the severity and frequency of seizures associated with epilepsy, can be used for long-term treatment and provides an effective means of controlling convulsions associated with infectious neuropathies, such as viral encephalitis and distemper. It comes in a tablet form so you can easily hide it in a pill pocket and give it as a tasty treat or disguise it in your pal’s favorite wet food. Customers may receive this drug under the names Mysoline, Myidone.

Uses
Primidone is indicated for long-term control of convulsions, seizures, and epilepsy in dogs.

Possible Side Effects	Possible side effects include liver toxicity, anxiety when initiating treatment, agitation when initiating treatment, increased thirst, increased urination, increased appetite and weight gain. Other side effects are possible. Contact your veterinarian if your pet is unwell in any way after taking Primidone.
Drug & Food Interactions	Do not give primidone to dogs allergic to Phenobarbital. Contact your veterinarian immediately if you notice any strange behaviors or symptoms in your pet after administering Primidone.
Precautions	Tell your veterinarian if your dog is pregnant, lactating or if you intend to breed your pet. Use caution when giving other medications that may cause dizziness or drowsiness. Primidone should not be given to cats.
Recommended Dosage	Use exactly as directed by your veterinarian, as dosage is typically dependent on weight. Primidone can be given with food. Allow plenty of water for your pet to drink.
