Possible Side Effects	Common side effects include vomiting, diarrhea, lethargy, and decreased appetite. More severe or rare side effects can include injection-site reactions like irritation, edema, or necrosis, and in foreign markets, anaphylaxis and other allergic reactions have been reported. Since the drug is long-acting, side effects can last for a prolonged period, up to 65 days, and it is important to monitor animals for up to this duration. Drug & Food Interactions	Cefovecin is highly protein-bound and may interact with other highly protein-bound drugs. It is important to inform your veterinarian of all medications and supplements your pet is taking. Potential interactions exist with certain medications, including nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) such as carprofen, some cardiac, anticonvulsant, and behavioral medications, furosemide, doxycycline, and ketoconazole.
Precautions	Solovecin should not be used in animals with a known allergy to cefovecin, penicillin, or other cephalosporin antibiotics, as severe allergic reactions, including anaphylaxis, can occur. Common side effects in both dogs and cats may include vomiting, diarrhea, decreased appetite, lethargy, and redness or hair loss at the injection site. Due to the long-acting nature of the drug, side effects may not appear until up to two months after the injection. Solovecin is not recommended for puppies or kittens less than four months of age, and its safety has not been established for breeding, pregnant, or lactating animals.

Storage Instructions	Solovecin powder is reconstituted with sterile water for injection to create a solution. Both the powder and the reconstituted solution should be stored in the refrigerator between 36°F and 46°F (2°C and 8°C) and protected from light in the original carton. The reconstituted solution should be used within a specific timeframe. A color change to amber may occur over time, but this does not affect safety or effectiveness if stored correctly.
