Sucralfate (Carafate) Tablets

Sucralfate is a prescription medication used to help treat gastrointestinal (GI) ulcers. It can be used to help prevent gastrointestinal ulcers when giving aspirin or other NSAIDs (non-steroidal anti-inflammatories). Considered a bandage for the intestinal tract, it provides a coating over ulcers in the GI tract, which helps prevent future damage. It treats ulcers of the esophagus, stomach and small intestine. Veterinarians may also use this medication to treat companion animals. Customers may receive this uncoated tablet under the name Carafate.
