Description
Description
Terbinafine Hydrochloride is prescribed for fungal infections, specifically of the nails, hair, and skin in Dogs and Cats. Terbinafine is a type of allylamine antifungal that prevents the biosynthesis of ergosterol, which is a crucial part of the fungal cell membrane, by inhibiting the squalene epoxidase enzyme. This causes death of the fungal cell by interfering with the buildup of high concentrations of squalene, but not caused by deficiency of ergosterol.
